Igniting a Passion for God

Philippians 3: 7-11
7 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

To know Three realities:
(1) I may know Him
(2) Power (dynamis) of his Resurrection (the power of the Spirit living in me, thru me, for me)
(3) Fellowship (Koinonia) of his suffering
What does it mean to know in the sense of genosko? This means to learn to know, come to know, get a knowledge of perceive, feel.

When I know these three realities in my life I ignite a passion for God that shows up in my worship and my walk.

Ignite Passion for God Means Two things in my church experience and expression:
·         Worship – surrendered heart presenting love and affection to the Lord.
·         Life style evangelism – spreading the excitement of Jesus to everyone we come in contact.

Let's keep this simple and think about an acrostic for IGNITE

I – Infusion of the Power of God (in our worship, in our walk)
G – Goals set through inspiration from God and his word
N – New praise and Mercy
I – Introduce others to the Gospel
T – Truth
E – Encounter (God and then others)
